JUSTICE SAURABH BANERJEE O R D E R % 18.09.2026 1. The present petition has been received on transfer.

2. By virtue of the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, the petitioner seeks following reliefs:- “A. Issue an appropriate writ, order or direction directing Respondent nos.1 to 5, particularly the concerned police authorities, to protect the life, personal liberty and dignity of the Petitioner from any threat, coercion, intimidation, harassment, physical harm or unlawful interference by Respondent Nos. 2 to 5 or their associates, relatives or any person acting at their instance;This is a digitally signed order.

Direct Respondent Nos. 2 to 5 to ensure that the Petitioner is not forcibly taken to her parental home or compelled to reside with her parents against her wishes; C. Direct the concerned police authorities to take appropriate preventive and protective measures upon receiving any complaint, information or apprehension regarding threat, coercion, intimidation, unlawful confinement or interference with the Petitioner's liberty; D.

Pass any other or further order(s) which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the interest of justice”.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a 26-year-old advocate enrolled with the Bar Counsil of Delhi, who is unfortunately facing constant intimidation, coercion, interference and threats of confinement from her parents and other relatives being respondent nos.2 to 5 to forcibly marry to a person of their choice against her will, due to which she has decided to reside separately in Uttam Nagar, however, despite that they are still continuing to face the same threats and coercion from the said respondent nos.2 to 5.

5. Learned ASC accepts notice. At the outset, he submits that the address provided by the petitioner falls within the jurisdiction of PS: Uttam Nagar.

Keeping in view the facts and circumstances involved, especially to protect the fundamental right to life and liberty of the petitioner, who, though being a grown up adult is allegedly being subjected to force in matters purely of her personal choice, she shall be free to get in touch with the SHO, Mr.

It is made clear that if the petitioner chooses to reside within the jurisdiction of any other PS, she shall apprise about the same and give the complete details including the address to the SHO of the concerned PS within a period of three days from shifting and the SHO concerned to also take all possible steps to provide adequate assistance and protection, as and when needed to the petitioner, in accordance with law.
